Overview of Jacob

https://www.biblefunforkids.com/2025/03/overview-of-jacob.html

This Old Testament study is designed for older students with some worksheets and printables that correspond for younger students so they can be used in classes with several ages together or used specifically for the lesson. Most of these lessons have project printables for younger students that I have been wanting to add for some time. The printables for the younger students are for Jacob's dream about the ladder to heaven in Genesis 28.

All of the worksheets have the teacher's answer sheets included and most are in black & white.

To make the Flip Book, cut on the dotted line to separate the top from bottom. Cut the bottom pictures out on solid line. Layer in order and staple as shown on the gray rectangle. Fold the Foldable Book in half lengthwise, then fold in page 3, then fold the front cover on the line. The Spinner and Foldable Book are in color and black & white. The Spinner will work best if printed on cardstock or heavier paper.

There is a Reader Worksheet which has pictures for the students to write the number under each to put them in order after reading the summary of the lesson. The second worksheet is a fill in the blank. Instead of numbering these 1, 2, 3, etc., they are numbered with the verse to read first, then fill in the blanks using the Word Bank. The third was designed for those asking for cut & glue. It is an easy scripture to cut out the words and glue them in order. The students will also write out the verse. This was a suggestion from a teacher.  There is a Who did it? worksheet with a description for each person. The students will cut out the people and glue them to the correct description. There is a word search, number code and alphabet code worksheet. The review worksheet has been updated. There are two Write it out! worksheets included in this pack. The students will write about each picture to describe what happened to Jacob. The thought question can be used before the lesson as an introduction, or after the lesson as a conversation starter.

God said, "I am with you and will keep you wherever you go." Genesis 28:15

These printables can be used for this lesson and any other appropriate lesson and were kept plain intentionally for this purpose. A key verse was chosen to use for discussion, memory work, and copy work. Students can color or paint the designs on the banner, poster, door hanger and bookmark. Stickers can be added. String or ribbon can be added to the banner to hang and on the bookmark.
