Sodom & Gomorrah

This Old Testament study is designed for older students with some worksheets and printables that correspond for younger students so they can be used in classes with several ages together or used specifically for the lesson. Most of these lessons have project printables for younger students that I have been wanting to add for some time.

All of the worksheets have the teacher's answer sheets included and most are in black & white.

The one-page printable 3-D scene is super easy to prepare and fun for the kids and can be used as a visual, too! Color and black & white are both included.

To create the 3-D scene,

Print on paper or cardstock but works better so everything can hold its shape. NOTE: Cut the people off on the dotted line first.

Then fold the background in half. Cut on the dotted lines on each side of the city.

Fold the bottom of scene forward on gray solid line. Fold forward on top gray line. Fold backward on the inside line.

Cut the people on the solid lines and fold on the dotted lines.

Extra note for this set. One side of Lot is with the angels, and the other side is him running away. The other standup has his wife looking at the city and the other side has her turned into a pillar of salt. These can be turned around to retell what happened.

To make this a one-page printable, the city is smaller than what is on the 3-d popout. If it is set between the two outside buildings, it looks perfect with the city gate along the bottom. Cut on the outside solid line and fold on the dotted line. When telling about God sending fire and brimstone from heaven, the top flap can sit on the fold so the city on fire is in front of the original city. Yes, it is smaller, but it gets the point across, and it was the only way to keep it one page.

To make the Flip Book, cut on the dotted line to separate the top from bottom. Cut the bottom pictures out on solid line. Layer in order and staple as shown on the gray rectangle. Fold the Foldable Book in half lengthwise, then fold in page 3, then fold the front cover on the line. The Spinner and Foldable Book are in color and black & white. The Flip Book and Spinner work best if printed on cardstock or heavier paper.

There is a number code and alphabet code worksheet. The third was designed for those asking for cut & glue. It is an easy scripture to cut out the words and glue them in order. The students will also write out the verse. This was a suggestion from a teacher. The next is a word search puzzle. There is a Reader Worksheet which has pictures for the students to write the number under each to put them in order after reading the summary of the lesson. The next worksheet is a fill in the blank. Instead of numbering these 1, 2, 3, etc., they are numbered with the verse to read first, then fill in the blanks using the Word Bank. The review is a fun review that can also be a discussion starter. The Write it out! has four pictures for the students to write about the scripture and what they learned about Lot.

These printables can be used for this lesson and any other appropriate lesson and were kept plain intentionally for this purpose. A key verse was chosen to use for discussion, memory work, and copy work. Students can color or paint the designs on the banner, door hanger and bookmark. Stickers can be added. String or ribbon can be added to the banner to hang and on the bookmark.
