Peter and Jesus Walk on Water

https://www.biblefunforkids.com/2024/06/peter-and-Jesus-walk-on-water.html

This Jesus lesson is part of the Life of Jesus series of lessons not found in the book of Luke. They are designed for older students with some worksheets and printables that correspond for younger students so they can be used in classes with several ages together.

Most of the worksheets have the teacher's answer sheets included and some are in color and black & white.

The 3-D scene is super easy to prepare and fun for the kids and can be used as a visual, too! Color and black & white are both included. To create the 3-D scene:

Print on paper or cardstock, although cardstock works better. Fold the paper in half. Cut on black dotted lines on each side of the center rectangle. Cut on black dotted line to cut the people away from the scene. Fold bottom of scene forward on gray solid line. Fold forward on top line. Fold backward on the inside line. Cut Peter and Jesus on the solid lines and fold on the dotted lines.

**Give the students have a marble. Have them put the marble in a bowl of water. What happens when you put the marble on the surface of the water? [it will sink] What happens when you go into the water? You either swim or you will sink. We are going to talk about two people that walked on water! I have also used the (rounder) riverbed stones from Dollar Tree. Original idea found here. They really liked doing this, and it was a good discussion starter!

To make the Flip Book, cut on the dotted line to separate the top from bottom. Cut the bottom pictures out on solid line. Layer in order and staple as shown on the gray rectangle. Fold the Foldable Book in half lengthwise, then fold in page 3, then fold the front cover on the line. The Spinner and Foldable Book are in color and black & white. The Spinner will work best if printed on cardstock or heavier paper.

The first worksheet is a fill in the blank. Instead of numbering these 1, 2, 3, etc., they are numbered with the verse to read first, then fill in the blanks using the Word Bank. There is a Reader Worksheet which has pictures for the students to write the number under each to put them in order after reading the summary of the lesson. The third was designed for those asking for cut & glue. It is an easy scripture to cut out the words and glue them in order. The students will also write out the verse. This was a suggestion from a teacher. The next is a chapter word search puzzle. There is a number code and alphabet code worksheet. The review worksheet has been updated. The write it out! has four pictures that the student will write about to describe what happened to Jesus and Peter. The thought question can be used as an introduction to the lesson, or after the lesson as a conversation starter.

The Lord your God will hold your right hand, saying to you, "Fear not, I will help you." Isaiah 41:13

These printables can be used for this lesson and any other appropriate lesson and were kept plain intentionally for this purpose. A key verse was chosen from the chapter to use for discussion, memory work, and copy work. Students can color or paint the designs on the banner, poster, door hanger and bookmark. Stickers can be added. String or ribbon can be added to the banner to hang and on the bookmark.
