These Anchor Charts are included with the lesson written by Jeanne.

There are two pictures to color and a Concept Chart. The Concept Chart has scriptures from 1 John to look up and discuss. There is another Concept Chart that does not have the scriptures written on it and can be used for what scriptures and discussion you choose to use.

A Design-Your-Own-Headband: Just color and add stickers!

This maze, color-by-number and dot-to-dot are included

for God is love in 1 John 4:8.

These printables can be used for this lesson and any other appropriate lesson and were kept plain intentionally for this purpose. Students can color or paint the designs on the banner, door hanger and bookmark. Stickers can be added. String or ribbon can be added to the banner to hang and on the bookmark.

Here is how Jeanne played it:

Each of the quotes were taped on the end and wrapped around the sticks of these suckers. All the suckers were placed in this heart envelope, which has been firmly attached to a sturdy board.

The kids took turns choosing the sucker they wanted. I would then unroll the quote and read it to them. If they guessed correctly as to whether or not it was John or somebody else, they got to keep the sucker. If they guessed incorrectly, I kept the sucker.

You will notice that I have a quote by John Lennon, so you have to emphasize whether it is John in the Bible or somebody else. I learned the hard way, because I asked if it was John or somebody else and it was John and somebody else. I let her have the sucker, but explained it was not the Bible John.

The Newsletter Foldable can be used as a review handout, sent in the mail or in an email, especially for those unable to be in class. The same lesson is included for the teacher.

 This is the inside with the lesson and pictures. On the outside, Jeanne adds notes and assorted items. She might add a Bible verse, memory verse, a Bible song or two, a picture to color, a reward reminder and/or notes about class and hello to students. You could add a puzzle, maze, worksheet, whatever you prefer.
