Put the Phone Down!

The conversation began innocently and it ended with such a heartfelt comment, I had to share it. 

 I was taking attendance in class. I used to leave my phone home because I didn't want to risk it ringing and I figured anything could wait until I got home after worship service. Anyway, I need it now because attendance is taken with a QR code. I was showing my assistant how to turn the sound off. I mentioned that ... oops!.. sometimes I forget to turn it back on, but I was ok with that because then I don't hear the phone ringing during the week and don't have to talk on the phone. Her reply was, "Oh, that's why you don't answer!"  

But one of the students said, "Maybe I can tell my dad to do that so he won't be on the phone all the time and can spend time with me." Sad but true.
