ABC's of Jesus' Life: R is for Roof
These lessons can be used without the alphabet theme.
Just consider them an update with new ideas and printables to teach the Life of Jesus!
This is an addition to Haley's Box Visual. I liked the idea of using any box for the students to make their own and you can ask members or friends for empty tissue boxes. Or, if you just want a smaller visual for storage purposes. The background can be used without a box for easier prep. The tissue box is almost 9x4.75" that I used in the picture. I cut off the top and cut straight across the opening on the side. I turned it so the original bottom of the box is now the back of the visual.
Another way to use any of the backgrounds and stand-ups on this site! Purchase a turntable/Lazy Susan. Put 2 or 3 backgrounds back to back in the center of the turntable, then you can spin it for different backgrounds and the people can 'walk' to the next scene or however you want to use it. Search Amazon, eBay, garage sales, ask if someone can donate one, etc. to look for the best price. This is the one I purchased and it was cheapest at the time for that size. The standard and easiest is to use the flip backgrounds. Print and fold and they are ready!
Another option to use the printables is a suitcase visual. You can see more about using a suitcase here as a visual. There are more options for suitcases! I used a mini suitcase from here. There are different colors @ Oriental Trading and Amazon. I like that they are small, plain and affordable. I don't like that if you want it to lay as shown, you have to use something to prop up the back. Grab what's handy... I used a box of staples! ☺
The kids love using these!
The file contains two sets of graphics to use. The first set is clipart and the second pictures are from Sweet. They both have color and black & white (although the Sweet black & white are not perfect.) There are a couple sizes to choose from. There are backgrounds and more not shown that are included and can be seen in the photos above..
A crossword, house maze and Word Search are included. The first is a Reader Worksheet. The wording from the scripture is as easy to read as possible with sight words while keeping to the key points with easy to answer questions. The second is a fill-in-the-blank worksheet. Color and black & white are included for both.
I designed the Trip Strip to be a cut & glue timeline. This one shown has lines for the students to write about each event. Or, they can write the scriptures. There is another worksheet without the writing space. These can easily be used for mixed age groups. Cut and glue according to directions.
