Shadrach, Meshach & Abed-Nego's Life

Although this lesson discusses Daniel with Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, he is only mentioned in the events that he is with his friends. The students will study how they arrived in Babylon, the food they wanted to eat, their refusal to bow down to the king’s statue and the fiery furnace.

 The stand-ups include a large statue and King Nebuchadnezzar. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego are together in one piece. These can be used as a different style teacher's visual. The students love these because everything can be moved around as you teach the lesson. They can be printed for the students to retell what they learned. You can keep them in your lesson file to reuse or let them take them home.

The first photo is them not worshipping the statue and the king is not happy about their disobedience. This picture shows them at the furnace and being told their punishment and they remain faithful to God.

This last photo shows the furnace flipped around. The door is glued on separate and he loved the open and closed feature. The king is saying to throw them in and they can be tucked in between the  two furnaces, the soldier can lay down and open the door again and bring them back out.

This is a simple worksheet to add the flames however you choose and they can glue the people on after the flames are added.

 

These can be attached to a large craft stick, paint stick or just held. Fun way to retell what they learned. The eyes and/or mouth are optional to remove.

This is a Life Sequencing Timeline. There is a completed one (right) for a teacher's visual, if you are keeping a notebook and just want it as a chart, or you do not like the cut and glue. If the students only put glue above the dotted line, they will have a lift-the-flap with the information under each photo.
