Saul was the first king of Israel, but his disobedience to God caused him to lose the kingdom. David is briefly discussed, but this lesson is an overview of King Saul. His son Jonathan is not mentioned and his information is in the next lesson. David's life is after Jonathan.
The following posters, worksheets and more are
in the lesson and application pack.
This is a King Saul's Life
Sequencing Timeline. There is a completed one (right) for a teacher's visual, if you are
keeping a notebook and just want it as a chart, or you do not like the cut and
glue. If the students only put glue above the dotted line, they will have a
lift-the-flap with the information under each photo.
The Venn worksheet: read the
scriptures, then discuss things that the students might get talked into by
their friends. But how would God want them to act? One side is for obeying God
and the other is pleasing themselves or their friends. Saul lost his earthly
kingdom because of his disobedience to God. We can be lost in God’s heavenly
kingdom because of disobedience to God.

This would be great with the Venn worksheet!

This would be great with the Venn worksheet!
I didn't add any additional printables for this lesson (except for the Venn discussion worksheet) since there are so many in the Life of David series. There are so many crossovers between King Saul, King David and Jonathan.
