Jacob’s
dream, his family, his love for Rachel, his problems with Laban, Esau his
brother, Jacob in Canaan and giving Joseph the coat, and his time in Egypt are
discussed as part of Jacob’s life. He is found in Genesis 25-33 & 48-50.
This is
another long lesson and can be divided into two (or more) lessons. I intended for this
series to be one lesson per person, but even having the events condensed, there
is a lot of information about some of them.
This lesson
will key in on Jacob with condensed writing where Esau or Joseph are involved
since Esau was studied in the last lesson and Joseph in the next lesson.

This is a nice chart for teaching or for students keeping a notebook
This Graphic Organizer can be used to compare what we know about Jacob & Esau. The top is the completed teacher's visual with the answers. It can also be used by itself to discuss the differences about the brothers. They are included in Isaac & Rebekah's lesson also.
I added these event cards. Print them on cardstock. Cut each card around the solid outside line and fold on the center dotted lines for the stand-ups. Place the Jacob & Esau stand-ups on the table with the event cards in a pile in front. The teacher can either move the correct event card to Jacob or Esau while teaching, or for a review. Students can take turns also. If you number the back with 1 or 2, they can be self-checking for the students. There are included in Isaac & Rebekah's lesson, too.
I added the Patriarch's Burial Cave poster and created a new chart for the differences for the 12 Sons of Jacob and the 12 Tribes of Israel. This simple chart should make it easy to show the changes. These are both nice charts if the students are keeping a notebook.
