Easy Pig Pillow

https://www.biblefunforkids.com/2019/08/easy-pig-pillow.html
The templates are not just for pillows! They can be used on fabric, poster board, cardboard, cardstock, paper, however you want to make them. They can be adjusted to any size for your needs.

I bought supplies to let each grandchild make their own special pillow. One of them was a lion for Lion Guard and I thought it would be really cute for Daniel and VBS. Then, that led to a sheep which would work for any sheep lesson. So, here I am making pillows! You could make small ones and let the students draw a face with a Sharpie, or just hand out completed ones. The bigger ones would look great for a display visual.

I found this super soft fabric and it was just what I was looking for. It has a soft pink undertone with white fur. This fur feels incredible, so that is a good thing. But, it is harder to sew because the fur is on both sides. This made it nice for the ears, though. It is not available online, but I found it at Hobby Lobby. It is two-sided Sherpa pink/white #5087846 if you want to look in your local store.

I used 2 mm white precut felt and 2 mm black precut felt for the eyes. I used 2 mm light pink precut felt for the muzzle and front of the ears. I planned to use black for the nostrils, but I didn't like the look and didn't have any brown felt. So, I used leftover brown fur from the lion and turned it inside out. I intended to sew the ear pieces together and turn right side out. But, since the fur is on both sides and fluffy, I just sewed the pink felt onto the ear, pulled the fur that wanted to come off and used it like it's shown. I didn't add a mouth on the pic because it looked silly to me.

Add stuffing, thread, good scissors and a sewing machine. All the patterns and directions are in the download.

I made the pig about 16" round. I used whatever I could find to make the shapes I wanted!

You can cut the muzzle, nose and eyes from felt and glue on poster board, etc. Attach to a paint stick or large craft stick (depending on the size you create) for more fun.
