3.2. Elijah Fed By Ravens

www.biblefunforkids.com
This is lesson 3 in the third quarter of out through the Bible study with preschoolers.
This is such a fun lesson!
Both of these scriptures are so short, I combined them for this lesson.
Part 1
Elijah told Ahab that there wouldn’t be any dew or rain, unless Elijah asked God for it. God told Elijah to go hide by a brook called Cherith.
Elijah would be able to drink water from the brook there. God said He will send the ravens feed Elijah there. So, Elijah did what God said, and ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and the evening. He drank water from the brook.
After a while, the water in the brook dried up because it didn’t rain. God told Elijah to go see a widow and she would feed him. A widow is a woman whose husband has died.

Part 2
When Elijah arrived at the city gates, the widow was there picking up sticks. Elijah asked her to bring him some water in a cup. As she turned to go get him a drink, he also asked for a piece of bread.
But the widow told Elijah that she only had a handful of flour and a little oil left. She was gathering sticks to make the last loaf of bread, and then her and her son would die because that was all the food she had left.

Elijah told her not to worry. He said, “Make me a small cake first and bring it to me, then you can go back and make more for you and your son.”
The Lord says that your bin of flour and your jar of oil will not be used up until it rains again. And that’s what happened! The widow and her son had enough to eat!
Lesson found in 1 Kings 17

I laid out a strip of blue felt for the brook. I couldn't find my 'water' fabric, but they didn't seem to care. I set the ravens as you see. I found them in October at Dollar Tree. I brought bottled water to represent the water Elijah drank from the brook and Goldfish for the bread and meat the ravens brought. They loved sitting on the floor by the 'brook' eating the 'bread and meat' (goldfish) and drinking the water 'from the brook'. (Sorry, phone picture)

This is an updated door hanger that I have used before (see below). I added a pocket in the back of the door hanger with cards that can be used for discussion on the different things that God provides. Since this is preschool, the cards are for their level. The download includes the color and black & white printables. Click here to download.
