This is a lesson about the friends bringing a man that couldn't walk to see Jesus, but there were so many people, they had to put a hole in the roof and let him down! This lesson is intended for preschool and out students really enjoyed the projects.
Jesus was in Capernaum for some
days and when people heard that He was in a certain house, people immediately
came to see Him! There was such a large crowd of people in the house to see
Jesus! There wasn’t any more room! The doorway was full of people! Jesus was preaching to the people.
When they couldn't get near Jesus, they decided to go to the flat roof. When they had broken a space big enough in the roof, the four men let their friend down through the roof right in front of Jesus!
Scripture is Mark 2:1-12
& Luke 5:17-26.
This is a fun reinforcement project for the kids! Once the man is cut out, attach string or yarn. Put the string through the holes at the top of the roof and tie the string. *Just a note: I cut one string 24". I tied one end to the man, strung the other end through the roof slots, and tied the other end to the other side of the man. The kids can pull him up and down to Jesus. I was talking to my co-teacher, and she said the visual doesn't let the man stand up and roll up the mat. So, I created this! The directions are included and has color and black & white. I used felt for the man's mat because felt doesn't fray and it will hold it's rolled up shape once the kids put it in the circle. Plus, the squares are cheap and I keep extras laying around!
