This continues our series learning about Jesus. This is week 9 in the fourth quarter of a year of Preschool Bible Study that I assist with on Wednesday evening.
Big crowds of people have been coming to see Jesus. Jesus and
His disciples have been teaching and Jesus had been healing people. When Jesus
healed people, it is called a miracle. Because with God’s power, the people were
healed instantly.
When it was evening, Jesus sent His disciples to the boat. Jesus
wanted them to go ahead of Him to the other side of the water (to Bethsaida).
Jesus sent the crowds of people away and when they had left, Jesus went to the
mountain to pray. Who was He going to pray to? (God) When it was nighttime, a storm came. Jesus was by Himself on
the mountain and His disciples were in the boat in the middle of the sea. Jesus could see the disciples in the boat trying to row. But the wind was so
strong and there were big waves in the sea. The disciples were having a hard
time trying to get the boat to the shore.
Jesus decided to go to His disciples! Jesus walked right on
the water to be with them! When they saw Jesus, they were scared. Jesus
told them “Be happy. Do not be afraid.”
Jesus walked on the water and got into the boat with His
disciples. And, when Jesus was in the boat, the storm stopped, and they were at
the shore safe. His disciples were so amazed! Jesus has the power to stop the
storm!
Find this lesson in Mark 6:45-52 & John 6:15-21.
For preschool ages, I purchased these sheets of felt for the water. I found these boats to use and you can print Jesus here. This is fun hands-on review for the students! The kids love these kind of projects! This comes in color and black and white. I printed the background on white cardstock so they could color it and printed Jesus in color so I could have Him attached to the large craft stick. Use a craft knife along the top of the water so Jess can walk 'on' it. Remember to leave at least an Inch on each end so the paper stays attached. Click here to download.
I actually have two different styles of this project! So, I decided to post them both so you have a choice. Click here to download this one.
This the same Jell-O project I have posted before, but this just has Jesus and the boat. You can see this post for more. I used clear plastic cups and each 6 oz. package of Jell-O makes 6 cups. Lay plastic on the top of the Jell-O so it doesn't get the white coating on top and this helps with transporting them to the church building also. Print on cardstock and cut out. use Scotch Tape to attach a toothpick to the back. You can also add Gummi Fish in the 'water'. Click here to download Jesus and the boat.
Click here to print the Pictures to Color.
Not all visuals are shown.
(These are the same as the visuals but are black & white.)
