God's promise to Abram is Fulfilled is lesson 6 in the first quarter of a year
of Preschool Bible Study that I assist with on Wednesday evening. We continued learning about the promises that God made to Abraham. God always keeps His promises and Abraham and Sarah had Isaac.
Last week we
learned about Abram and lot. They had so many animals, the herdsmen were
arguing about the land. They each wanted the best land for the food and water to
take care of their animals. Abram told lot (nephew) that he could pick the land
he wanted. Lot decided which land he wanted, and Abram moved the other
direction. God was happy that Abram let Lot pick the land.
We are
learning about Abram. He found in the book of Genesis (17-22). Genesis is the
first book of the Old Testament. There are two parts of the Bible: Old & New
Testament.
Abram
believed the promises that God told him. God
told Abram that he would be the father of all nations. He would have so many descendants
(explain) like the sand on the seashore. Or the stars in the sky (15:5-6). You can’t count the stars in the sky! God
told Abram that now he would be called Abraham and his wife would be called
Sarah.
Many
years later, God talked to Abraham told him that He would bless Abraham and
Sarah with a son and they were to name him Isaac.
Later,
Abraham was sitting by the door of his tent. When he looked outside, there were three men. Abraham ran out to meet them and offered them water, rest, food and feet
cleaning. Abraham fed them bread and
meat.
The three men
asked Abraham where his wife was and Abraham told them “She is here in the
tent.” Sarah was listening by the tent door and heard one of the men say that
she would have a son. Well, she knew she was old and she laughed to herself.
Now the man
asked why Sarah laughed because God do anything! The men rose and Abraham went
with them to send them on their way.
The next
year, Sarah had their son just as God promised and Abraham and Sarah named him
Isaac just as God told them to.
