Cathy's Corner: How's Your Heart?

www.biblefunforkids.com
This is a short post with some really great heart printables. They can be used with almost any lesson to discuss how God wants us to be. Our attitude. Our actions. Our thoughts.
As I was looking through Cathy's Bible class supplies, there were a couple of heart items that were in bags by themselves. Cathy wasn't sure which lesson they belonged to, but was probably used with David when Saul is killed. But, both of these can be used for discussion or an addition to a lot of Bible lessons. So, I decided to put these in their own post. These hearts can be used several ways and I am sure you can think up more. If you care to share, leave a comment below so others can benefit. (Thanks)

These are basically the correct vs. wrong attitudes that God expects us to have. You can direct the discussion to review your Bible lesson and/or the person you learned about. You can hold them up and talk about them, or you can hand them out and let the students tell you more. You can put them in a basket or container or in a pile and let them pick one to talk about. You can print sets for the students and let them find the pairs. These have so many possible uses. Cathy had magnets on the backs and used them on her magnetic board. I included color and black and white so you can print onto color paper. Click here to print the small set of hearts.

Cathy designed this single heart as a large visual made from a firm red felt. She used a Sharpie to write the words on the felt. This can be enlarged on red poster board for a large teacher's visual. It can also be printed as it is for the students to cut and put together as you discuss the words. You can store in baggies to reuse for different lessons. Cathy had a full size gray heart to attach the pieces on as she teaches this. There is Velcro on the back of the pieces to attach to the gray base. Or, you can attach magnets to the back of the pieces and use with a magnetic board. Click here to download.

  2. Children do love hands on illustrations, and I think it helps them to better remember the truths they are being taught. The hearts are a great idea! I'm visiting from Sunday Stillness.
