Week 10 continues the scriptures and thoughts of my
Sister-in-Law Cathy Whitacre.
Cathy
Whitacre has touched a lot of lives with her special personality. It is with
much sorrow that her body cannot fight cancer this time due to other issues.
These are Cathy's daily thoughts which I am posting a week at a time. She wants
to use this time in a positive helpful way and we pray that these scriptures and
thoughts might encourage
you.
Thanks so
much Cathy for the godly and motherly advice you have given me over the years.
I have passed them on to my children as well. We love you very much! -Mel
Hutzler (Thank you Mel!)

Psalm 119:16
"I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy words."
As I grow each day my love for you becomes stronger. When the Lord is on my side I will not fear, what can man do unto me? The struggles we face each day helps us to be ready for the next.
Where does the strength come from you may ask? For me, it may be as simple as this statement, "let me live close to Thee each day, or let me share some poor sinners load to the end."
Thank God for allowing me to hold to His hand and for the opportunity to know this world is not my home I am just a passing thru. Therefore to him that knows to do good and doeth it not to him it is a sin.

Just a FYI for the following day's
writing: Cathy's Son and his family were preparing to leave on a mission trip with
a group of 47
Christians for Sandy Bay Jamaica for a 9-day long mission campaign. Christians
are working together from Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas in conjunction
with Jamaican brethren. Their plans included operating a medical clinic,
working on a church building, conducting personal Bible studies, holding a
daily tent meeting, and having a Vacation Bible School for 200 children.
Cathy's Son-in-Law and Granddaughter
were also leaving on a mission trip to Nicaragua
with a group.

Matthew 28:19
Mission: Have you ever been so excited that you didn't know where to begin, or what you wanted to share was so important that you didn't know where to start? To me that is how it felt the first time I was given the opportunity to be involved on a mission trip!
Let me encourage you not to let that stop your desire to serve our Father in Heaven.
When I was offered the opportunity to take my first trip to share God's word with the saints in Jamaica, I wouldn't be held back!
"But my God shall supply all you need according to His riches in glory by, Christ Jesus."
My fellow workers be ready to answer the call that our Father has given."
Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the Son and the Holy Ghost." May God Bless His wonderful effort.

John 10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow Me."
The liquid sunshine has been beautiful today. I had a surprise that few Nana's my age would want, but it was perfect for me. I have always enjoyed God's creatures, so today my husband made arrangements for me to have a visit from a young lamb, named " L.T. "and his owner Michael Ray.
If there is one
thing that brings a smile to my face it's a creature that God has given us to
enjoy. What comfort to know we are referred to as Jesus' sheep. We are cared
for, loved, looked after, and have no fears. Am I listening for my Father's
voice?

Philippians 4:19
" But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory
by Christ Jesus."
As I watch my liquid sunshine (rain) coming down in sheets across the sky, it reminds me of the beautiful Jamaica rains in which you will soon look forward to cooling off those warm days. About those who are getting closer to your mission trip, I can't help but get excited for you.
It has been many years since I was first asked to go and the excitement is still like a burning ember. Even though I am unable to go physically, I am with you in prayer.
One song continues to stick with me when we sing it even to this day. "There is work to do, there is work on every hand?" Then the next obvious question to me was, where do I sign up, let's get going?
Remember the day you had a big surprise coming? This morning was one of those days, I would have to be up at 6:30 for my surprise, no matter how old I get, I am not too old for a surprise. How about you? So no one will feel left out I can almost guarantee a 6:30 wakeup call will come as each day goes on. These will begin your days to remember!

Acts 13:2 "As they ministered to the Lord and fasted. the Holy Ghost said separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work where unto I have called."
Each day of my life brings me new challenges. Little did I know how I would face them. Most of all, I would need help, which meant as much as possible, starting with my prayers. Today was just one of those challenges. Yet, I have found out that there are so many willing brothers and sisters available that I never needed to be alone, asking is usually all it takes. I am reminded that Barnabas and Saul were even separated to do a better work. They were always ready to do what it took to achieve the results needed. As I have learned, it may not be the easiest task for me, but the most necessary in preparation for my next challenge.
God's word will comfort my heart and establish me in every good word and work while I am on my journey.

2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God; a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Have you ever wondered how you would make it through a situation that is new, possibly one that you are unfamiliar with, possibly a road untraveled, my journey has taught me that I couldn't have come this far without our Father's help.
We are promised that if we seek our Father, that He will guide us to our next challenge.
Prayer is the key to keep me focused on my journey, while studying gives me the confidence in His word.

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."
Not every day I face is normal. Whether or not I am facing a normal day or the one as I faced today I realized God will provide all my needs. This morning I needed special strength and attention from those whom had grown further than I had ever realized.
1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."
Little did I realize that the one I needed would be by my side, nor was I aware of the amount of strength that I would be able to obtain from her faith.
When we face trials whether they be of physical or spiritual Illness, we need to ask ourselves where is our strength coming from? We are Blessed to have our brothers and sisters to help us if we only ask, and share our needs.
