Preschool Alphabet: C is for Creation

Preschool at home ideas and printables!
http://kidsbibledebjackson.blogspot.com/2014/08/creation-lapbook-file-folder-game-more.html
These alphabet posts were intended to be short posts when I started them, but this one is a super long one! I found new Creation graphics at Educlips and I couldn't stop making things for this lesson, so I put them all in a separate post! Click here to see the creation printables for this lesson!

This week we are learning about God's creation. Open a Bible and show the very first thing we are told in the Bible is: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

On the first day, God said “Let there be light.” God divided it from the darkness and called the light ‘day’ and the darkness ‘night’. (Day 1: earth, day and night)

On the second day, God made a great area to separate the water. It was the sky and God called it Heaven. (Day 2: God created the skies)

On the third day, God put the water in one place so the dry land appeared. God called the dry land Earth, the water that was gathered together God named Seas.

Then God said Let the earth grow grass, herbs, and fruit trees. Each one would make a seed that would keep coming back by making more seeds. (Day 3: dry land, seas, (grass, plants and trees))

On the fourth day, God decided that there needed to be a light in the heavens. The light would be used to have different seasons and separate days and years. So, God put in motion the earth’s rotation. God made the sun for light during the day, and the moon for a light during the night. God made the stars, too! (Day 4: sun, moon, planets and stars)

On the fifth day, God wanted the water to have lots of creatures living in it.

God also wanted birds to fly in the sky. So, in verse 21 we learn that God made every living thing that moves! (Day 5: fish and birds)

On the sixth day, God made all the animals, from the big cattle, to the little bugs! Think of all the different types of animals that there are! Then, God made man to be over the animals. God took dust from the ground and made a man. God called him Adam, which means father of all living. God made a woman named Eve to help Adam. (Day 6: animals and Adam & Eve)

On the seventh day, God rested.

C is for counting and colors, too! They love these Learning Resources learning toys. They are fun for different ages, and when they come out, I always hear "Let's do it again!"  We have the Count 'em up Popcorn. And, the Farmer's Market Basket sorting set for colors and naming the foods. Also, the Super Sorting Pie can be used to sort colors and items. The Counting Cans are fun, too! And, we use the Alphabet Soup Cans also. (We just like these, this is not a paid advertisement!)

C is also for cookies, and we worked with the Shape Cookies and the Alphabet Cookies. She told me "Look, I made a cross!" All by herself! She's about to panic because her sister is thinking of taking it apart!

We had a lot of fun with this file folder game! This will help learn number recognition and counting. We love file folder games, and I like them because they are easy to make and easy to store. You can print the Popcorn Counting File Folder Game here.
C is also for Cars!

This is preschool fun for things God made outside!
Here is a fun way to review the days of creation!
And, click here to see this project that I used for Bible class, and is a lot of fun for this age too!
Click here for this alphabet pack, and the only printables included are pages like C is for Cat, etc. and not necessarily from the Bible. Instead of a picture to color in this pack, I wanted to make a small book to use. You can see that here.
Here are some books to use with the letter C. A couple of books that we really like is Pete the Cat... all of them! And, (not in any order) Color Farm by Lois Ehlert is really good since we can practice colors and shapes. Who's Counting by Nancy Tafuri,  Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and Have You Seen My Cat? by Eric Carle.
There are A-Z Bible People Pictures to Color here.
You can find more A-Z God made It printables here.

  8. You are AMAZING!! I stopped going to church several years back, but I now have a 3 year old boy and a 1 1/2 year old little boy that I want to teach about God. I thought I'd do home Sunday school with them. We are doing our first lesson starting with creation today. You make it so easy for a busy mama.

  9. The most loving part I loved in this blogs is C for cookies, and kid’s seems really busy in working with the Shape Cookies and for Alphabet Cookies. They are truly charming. I must say you had lot of fun while playing such games. In my Phoenix pre-k kids also love to play such games with lots of interest.
