This is part of our preschool learning we did at home. It includes ideas that can be used at home to learn about the animals God made. *This is intended for home use or preschool (or kindergarten) classes. They are not intended for Bible class.*
We began our Arctic study with these posters.
All the 'God Made the Animals' have the real photo posters available. They are two per page to save ink and are in color only. I tried to use full body photos in their natural habitat.
I found these penguins and polar bears at Dollar Tree. They are nice and affordable for the kids to keep and they were used with the ice project below.
I saw this idea on Pinterest. I froze a block of water and they played with the animals on a block of ice like the animals in the arctic. I also found smaller cute penguins here. They are from China so you need to order early.
I purchased this habitat pack and the kids love using stickers! I used the Arctic set from this pack.I saw this idea on Pinterest. We used this Arctic Sticker Scene last year and had enough sheets to use again. So, stickers again? Absolutely! They loved it! These are oversized. And, they love making the big picture!
We looked at these books from the library. This means this is what our library had available. If there is not a link, then it was not on Amazon at the time of posting. I suggest looking at your library to see what is available for free and if you love any of the books, then purchase them. Most of these are not really for preschoolers. They really liked the Nothing Like a Puffin book.
Here is a good article about polar bears at Apologetics Press.
The kids seemed to have more fun and learn more if we just discussed one animal at a time.
